A lot of contributors to Muffwiggler et al would have you believe that it is not worth getting into building a modular synthesizer if you do not have a lot of money at your disposal. They concentrate on the most expensive modules and their attitude seems to be, if you haven't got those in your system, your system is not worth having. However, one of the main drives behind Dieter Doepfer creating the Eurorack format is 'making building modular syntheiszers more affordable'. Like Dieter, I believe there is a lot of value in having a cheaper Eurorack system, and you shouldn't have to compromise on having a decent sound.

This blog will provide hints and tips in building up a substantial Eurorack modular synthesizer which is more within the price range of practicing musicians rather than rich collectors.
